Shopify: PaysafeCash

PaysafeCash is a barcode-based eCash payment solution, empowering various industries including financial services, housing, utilities, healthcare, and gaming to accept payments in cash. With PaysafeCash, products or services can be ordered online and then paid for directly with cash at the nearest PaysafeCash payment point by scanning a barcode. 1. Log into your Shopify Account (if you are not already logged in) using your username and password.  

2. Once logged in, access PaysafeCash payments app in the click Shopify App Store. 

3. Click Install to begin the app installation process.
   If you manage multiple stores, select the store where you want to add the PaysafeCash app. 
   
   

4. After installation, you are redirected to the merchant account configuration screen.

5. In the merchant account configuration screen, enter your Merchant ID (PMLE ID) and Private API key (Secret Key). Paysafe provides these credentials after you have successfully signed up and created your Private API key in the Paysafe Optic Portal.
   To obtain your PMLE ID and Private API key, follow these steps: 

   1. Log in to the Paysafe Optic Portal. 
      You can log in using the Login to Paysafe link in the welcome email you received after activating your account. 

   2. Go to Developer > API keys to locate your Merchant ID/PMLE ID and Private/Secret API key. 
      You must authenticate to view the secret key. 

   3. Click Copy to copy the Private API key. 

   4. The Merchant ID (PMLE) number is part of the API username, located after the minus (-) sign in the API username.

   5. Copy and paste it into the MERCHANT ID field. 
      If you are using Netbanx instead of the Optic Portal.
      You can find your keys under Settings > API keys.

      2. Copy the API key using the copy key button and paste it into the PRIVATE API KEY field. 
         Note: Each time you create or update an API key, a security token will be sent to your email, which you’ll need to enter. 

6. Click Verify Account. 

   Note: Ensure the password string is copied properly.  

   Expected format of API key is username:password, for example:

7. After successfully verifying your account, the Currency and Payment Methods sections appear. Select the currency that matches your Shopify store's currency.  
   Note: If you have multiple accounts (FMAs) for a specific payment method and selected currency, you can choose the correct one (that you plan to use for transaction processing). 

8. Once you have finished configuring your Paysafe account, click Submit. The system will redirect you back to the Shopify Payments settings page.  
   
   

9. Click Activate to initiate processing with Paysafe. Test mode has to be disabled in order to process live payments. 
   

10. To simulate test orders and payments, toggle Test mode and activate the app. 
    

11. If you want to return later to adjust the extension settings (currency, account id), select More actions > Manage.  
    

Live payments 

In live mode, customers are redirected to the external PaysafeCash payment page, where they receive their QR payment code. Depending on the customer's country, they may be required to log in with their PaysafeCash credentials before the code is generated. 

Customers should save their QR code before proceeding with the payment. The QR code remains valid for 48 hours, during which the payment can be completed at any participating PaysafeCash payment location.

Note that this login page is visible only for customers from specific countries, for example in the UK or France. In the US, customers immediately receive their QR code. 

Click Back to go back to the Shopify checkout page.

Orders placed using PaysafeCash are initially marked as Payment pending in the Shopify Admin. Once the customer completes the payment at a participating PaysafeCash location, the payment is processed and the order status is updated to Paid. 

Test payments 

To replicate the paymentexperience in test mode, we provide a simple payment page that simulates the available payment outcomes (successful completion, rejection, or cancellation of the payment).
